W3C XKMS Patent Disclosures and Exclusions

1. Introduction

This page summarizes patent disclosures by participants in W3C's XKMS Working Group as required by of the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy. Note: This disclosure mechanism applies to all W3C Working Groups after 15 February 2004, per the Patent Policy Transition Procedure.

W3C takes no position regarding either:

  1. the validity or scope of any intellectual property right or other rights that might be claimed to pertain to the implementation or use of the technology, or
  2. the extent to which any license under such rights might or might not be available.

2. XKMS Working Group Specifications

The following is the list of Recommendation Track documents produced by the XKMS Working Group for which one may make a patent disclosure.

3. How to Make a Patent Disclosure or Exclusion

Any individual wishing to disclose a patent for any specification produced by the XKMS Working Group should use the XKMS Working Group patent disclosure form. Anyone in a Member organization who wishes to make a disclosure must contact their Advisory Committee representative, who will make the disclosure. The general public is also invited to make disclosures.

4. Disclosures After W3C's Adoption of W3C Patent Policy

The following disclosures were made for the deliverables of the XKMS Working Group after W3C's adoption of the Patent Policy Transition Procedure (15 Feb 2004). These disclosures follow section 6 of the W3C Patent Policy.
