Submission request to W3C

We, Hewlett-Packard Corporation and Microsoft Corporation, hereby jointly submit to the Consortium the following specification comprising the document below:

  1. Web Printing Extensions [Members Only]

which is referred to as "the submission". We request the submission be known as the Web Printing Extensions submission.

Abstract

This document will outline a minimal set of proposed extensions to HTML and Cascading Style Sheets that we believe are necessary to enhance Internet Printing from the Web. Most of the work is done in the area of Media Dependent Style Sheets where a different style sheet may be applied depending on the intended medium. This is a first pass at a rather formidable problem, but one which can still yield good results in the near term.
